I have two cousins living in Malibu. Many of the buildings you've seen on TV are very familiar to me, as my cousins grew up in Malibu; some even worshipped at Malibu Presbyterian, the church that just burned.

I will, hopefully, find out where my cousins evacuated to later today.

Please pray for the firefighters and evacuees with me.

We lived on the other side of the mountains from Malibu when I was a teen, and had to be evacuated there for a fire.....

it is so scary.

My father called this morning to tell me they are prepared to evacuate. There is a fire quite close to their home down in Bonita.

Lissa and I are fine! There is fire all around us, devastating fire, but we are in no danger. We had friends evacuated from Poway stay with us overnight with their almost 90 year old friend. They were able to go back to their homes today, praise God. The crazy thing is this same level of devastation just happened here in San Diego four short years ago! We are supposed to have a break in the weather later tomorrow.

Mary Chris, did your parents have to evacuate?

Thank you for the prayers! So many people have lost homes again, but, thankfully, the loss of life is very low in comparison to the last fires.

I heard from my parents today that my brother's abbey had to be evacuated yesterday after they had thought that the fires would not reach them. I know the students at their boarding school had already gone home, and though she didn't mention the sisters at the convent, I'm sure they're gone too.

Praying for all our friends and family.

I did not realize your brother was at the abbey.......he is a brother there?

It is such a small world........my friend Gloria's son goes to the boarding school there.......and I just found out it is the priests from there saying mass in SD where my bil and family attend, and us, too, when we are in town.

So, for those of you on westcoastfun, who know Gloria G.......Walter has come home til the evacuation is over.
