One of my 9yo daughter's classmates was hit by a van while walking to school this morning and suffered head injuries. Please pray that her injuries are not too severe and that she makes a full recovery. Many children (including my dd) saw the accident and are obviously very distressed by it, so they could use prayers too. The van driver was talking illegally on his cellphone when he hit her.

The injured girl's name is Lydia.

The local newspaper described Lydia's condition as "critical but stable". The school grapevine (which may or may not be accurate) says she has a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and brain damage .
