My 14 year old son has been coping all summer with what appears to be a rather severely torn hamstring muscle. He can barely walk.   He came down with it just as football practice started this summer, probably because he was weakened from his bout with the chickenpox just before that.

The odd thing is that it seems to be getting worse rather than better. He seems to be having some ongoing bleeding under the skin and is dealing with considerable pain.   We are trying to get an MRI approved by his insurance since no one knows exactly what's going on with him.

Will you please pray for his recovery?   (he has pretty much given up on playing football this season, which is a disappointment in itself, but the main thing is his health and restored function in the long term)

Willa, I can sympathize. My 16 yr old has been dealing with arm pain related to baseball for over a year. Every time he thinks it is getting better it starts hurting again. He does all the ice and heat, but I think there is an underlying problem which will probably end up ending his baseball career.

Of course, being a teen,he will still lift weights or go work on a farm instead of giving his body time to heal.

Sean got the MRI today... we don't know the results yet.

But his skin near the site of the internal injury has become a bit excoriated and raw. We don't know why.   He is due for a doctor's appointment tomorrow to check on it.

Anyway, please say some prayers. I am quite anxious about my poor son, but of course, trying to rest in God's will and just praying for the Holy Spirit's guidance and counsel in this.
