Dear ladies, I am sorry to post another prayer request so soon after joining the board, but I would like to ask prayers for our family's conversion. I have wanted to convert for some time, but dh has wanted to be anglo-catholic instead (still a big leap from reformed calvinism though!) as he felt called to be a priest in the anglican church all his life.
Well, he is utterly miserable - we all are. It's been like months of torture for our souls. And today he said he believes the best way to God through Christ is only through the Catholic church and so he doesn't know what to do.
He is very sad to think his feeling of calling to the anglican priest hood was wrong and is seeking what else God might have him do. I am trying not to act like conversion is a done deal or put pressure on him. But I had an appointment to see the local priest on Friday and now dh wants to come with me.
So, perhaps.....
Please pray if you can. Thank you.

I'll pray for you all...Pray that you can go forward holding the Father's hand, even when you can't see the way.
I can understand your dh's disappointment. Our family is close to a man who is now a Catholic priest who was an Anglican clergyman. He converted to Catholicism and after 20 years of heartache was finally ordained in the Catholic church. He said, I only ever wanted to be a Catholic priest.
Remember, first things first. Put yourselves right with His Will and God will show you and your dh how He wants you to serve Him.
hugs and prayers,
CK

Maybe you could read Scott and Kimberly Hahn's conversion story, it is so hopeful and shares all of their ups and downs on their road to Rome...."Rome Sweet Home" is the title...
We'll be praying, what an awesome time, really....as stressful as it is, God is so good!!!

That's a hard trial to be going through. I understand a tiny bit because it was the other way round in our family -- dh became a Catholic first (actually, reverted having been baptised but never raised Catholic) while I was still struggling (with Our Lady and Purgatory -- now I can't believe the fuss I made!). I'd had hopes of working abroad for Wycliffe Bible Translators so that was something to say goodbye to, but of course nothing like as significant as ordination.
Long story short -- I will pray for you. And please, never feel shy about prayer requests!
