Friends,This will be quick I promise to update.

My parents house was hit by lightning thisafternoon and caught fire. House will probably be okay, with water damage to the attic, top floor.

But mom's blood pressure hit the roof and she is being transported to hospital where I am headed right now.

Monday morning

Thank you all so very much for your prayers. I know they are what has sustained us thus far.

First, my mom. Something is wrong with her heart. She kept having a lot of chest pain yesterday and was admitted to the cardiac care unit at the hospital. Her blood work shows that there has been some form of "insult" or injury to the heart. We will know more after 11 am when she goes for a heart catheterization.
Whatever else happens with their home, we just want her to be well. It is that much harder for her right now because she has no home to come home to, probably for several months. None of their things were damaged by fire, but of course there is whole bunch of water damage and smoke smell. The entire ceiling of the top floor is on the floor along with all the attic insulation. There are holes in the floors, windows punched out and water nearly everywhere. The fire chief estimated upwards of $280,000 of damage. This is all by description. I haven't seen it yet and am bracing myself for the sight. This is the home I grew up in. My parents are not attached to their things, truly, but they love their "home". My mom said yesterday tearfully that she was just telling my father how every thing happy about her life is in that house.
Keep praying. I can't thank you enough. I will continue to update.

God is good! My mom's cath showed everything looking good. It is just about the best report they could have hoped for, no blockage, no damage, pumping properly and so on. Miraculous!
I have no doubt that your fervent prayers are part of this great news. My most heartfelt thanks to all. Keep praying. The house is awful. I couldn't even describe how horrible it looks inside. It will be at least 6 months before they can live there again. We have a lot of hard work. I have a specific request: please pray that we can support my parents emotionally in the best way possible. Mostly I want them to feel that although the "building" they live in is not there right now, their "home" hasn't gone anywhere. Their "home" will always be in our hearts where nothing can harm it.
