My father-in-law is having triple-bypass surgery today at 8:45am eastern. It should last 3-5 hours. Any prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery would be greatly appreciated! He's in relatively good health, but someone mentioned to the family that 10% of patients don't survive open heart surgery, so now they're probably more worried than they need to be! The rosary brought my fil back into the fullness of the faith recently, so if anyone remembers him in the rosary today I'm sure he'd be especially blessed!
Thanks so much!!

The surgery went well--only 3 hours instead of possibly 5--and everyone is happy with how it went. My dh was at the hospital with is mom the whole time and got to meet with the doctor. He waited until his dad was back in the room, but he was still knocked out so they didn't speak with him. I think it was a relief to just lay eyes on him. So now we have to wait until he wakes up and then pray for a full recovery! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Molly,
My dh is the director of cardiac rehab at the local
catholic hospital here in Wa St. And it sounds like
your father-in-law did well with the surgery time.
It is amazing how quickly the patients heal these days.
The first couple days are the most watched for the patient, and they can have some pain with the chest wall, or site where they took the vein from. We will keep him in prayer and pray for a quick and full recovery with a rapid healing. God bless

Thanks, Kathleen! He is in a lot of pain! But other than that, he's doing well . He's been cracking jokes, but I just know he hates hospitals and is itching to get out.
Thank you all for your continued prayers!
