Please pray for this sweet boy, Johnny. His leukemia is back He had leukemia when he was 6 years old, and was declared cancer free when he was 9, six years ago. Last night, his parents found out the cancer is back. The parents asked me to pray for his healing, but also because Johnny is very scared, since last time he was going through chemo, he lost many teenage friends.
This is so heartbreaking. They've had some heavy crosses in the last year. They're such a loving family, and we've been blessed to have them as neighbors.
Thank you for your prayers, and please keep their parents and 3 sibblings in your prayers.
God bless you all.

Update
I just spoke with Johnny's mom and she told me the cancer has spread to the brain The odds are not as high as she had hoped. He's also not eating and losing weight rapidly. She asked me if we could pray that he would be able to eat and put on some weight. His 15 year old brother is so devastated; they are each other's best friends.
Thank you for your continued prayers.

Update 6/20
I just saw Johnny's dad. He couldn't have any visitors today, because he had a very bad night last night and was very sick today. He's already had 4 spinal taps, he's having very bad headaches, and has lost 4 pounds since Friday.
He will be receiving radiation next week on his spine to treat the cancer in his brain. Hopefully this will work. The last resort would be a bone marrow transplant.
His mom has not left the hospital since Friday, and is not leaving until he can come home. His dad just came tonight, because his hasn't slept much all week.
They're going to homeschool the boys next year. They were homeschooled for 9 years and just went back to school 2 years ago. Joey wants to be by his brother's side, so he's not going back to school.
Please remember his parents in your prayers. They are so tired, and have to travel and hour and a half everyday to see him.
They thank you all for your continued prayers.

***June 26th Update***
Johnny's cancer is all over his body He will continue to have chemo and radiation for the next two years. He is missing a chromozome and some protein which would help him fight the cancer. The doctors gave him a 50% chance of survival They said this is actually good because he was cancer free for 6 years.
He just came home a few minutes ago. They're so thankful about all the prayers from everyone here.

July 3rd Update:
Johnny is back in the hospital. He was rushed in with a fever of 101.5 due to a bacterial infection in the lungs. There is a pulmunary surgeon on stand-by in case the antibiotic doesn't work. His mom told me this one was a close call. They were told he wouldn't have made it if they had waited another hour to bring him in. His dad is now living at the Ronald Mcdonald house indefinately, while his mom and brother stay with Johnny 24 hours a day.
Thank you again for your continued prayers. God bless you all.

How sad -- especially that he would lose friends when he needed them most. He and his family are in our prayers.

Johnny will be in our prayers. Is he being treated at Fairfax?
Teenagers are high risk. I have heard part of the reason is they are better able to hide not taking their meds. Sometimes teens are diagnosed later in the disease because parents miss a lot of the signs. We stop bathing them as they grow up.
It is so hard to see your friends dying. Everytime you visit the doctors office there is a bit of dread to what the whispers will be.
This is giving me a swift kick in the pants to get a move on our Light the Night Team. We will definitely include Johnny and his family in our prayers.
