Would you all mind offering up a prayer for my 8yo ds? He will be preparing for and competing in Pitch, Hit and Runon June 10th. He's a bit nervous, will not have a coach or family member with him when he competes, and really just wants to do his best. Pray for me, too. It can be hard watching from the sideline...that's my baby out there!
Love

Well, my mental filing system broke down. :-/
I have been praying for your son, and wanted to post on the day of the competition...which I thought was next week. :-/ Today I realized that it was *last* weekend. Sorry, Angie! How did he do?

Thanks so much for your prayers and for asking! He came in second place for 7 and 8 yos! So...he was second for the states of Arizona and New Mexico - big baseball states. His batting and running were right on. His pitching was a bit off (his ususal strength) but he sure did give the first place winner a run for his money. It was such a thrill to see him sitting in the Diamondback dugout and playing on the field. After the competition and before the game that day (an almost sold out game with the Boston Red Sox) he and the other winners stood on the sidelines and were inches away from the Dback players as they warmed up. Then they were announced before the crowd and his sweet face was shown on the jumbotron (big screen.) The crowd clapped and cheered...me be the loudest .
To make the day even more special, in between the competition and the game (he received free tickets for it just for making it that far) we went to Mass at the oldest Catholic Church in Arizona, St. Mary's Basilica. Plus...the Dbacks won! It was a WILD and fun game because there were SO many Sox fans. Ds sure did give this family a day that we'll never forget .
Love,
