I am asking for prayers for a dear friend who has recently learned he is leaving for Iraq in Sept. Those of you from Steubenville may remember Adrain Combe or his wife Maria D'Ambrosia, they are asking people to pray for his safety and quick return.
Adrain is in the Air Force, and for some reason he is being re-sent to Army basic training to fight in Iraq. Adrain is quite surprised as he is a medical/linguist specialist.

I will add them to my prayer list...
my own son is currently deployed and my dh is deploying very soon, so this is close to my heart.
(just a thought: my dh and my son have the same specialty and linguists are essential to them. I know they are in desperate need of linguists, so I might assume that is why Adrian has been picked up. doesn't make it any easier, but maybe a bit less confusing)

Praying!
Stupid question alert! - Why would he be sent to ARMY basic training if he is in the Air Force?
Blessings,
Krisann

Not a stupid question.
This is an unusual situation, but I'm afraid it will become more and more common as the Army tries to fill these much-needed specialties. He will surely be working with Army folks and will need to know Army basic skills. The two branches are different enough (and their basic training is different enough) from one another to make this a wise thing. He will benefit from the training, even though it will be a pain to spend that time away from home.
Still praying!
