Dear friends,

As many of you know, one of my dearest friends has a son who was diagnosed with cancer, stage 4 (neuralblastoma). His father has set up a caringbridge site here.

I have been feeling the call to ask John Paul II for his intercession to heal Trey. I have not been alone--many others have come to me and mentioned the same prompting. We are praying the Divine Mercy Novena right now for his intentions and next, we will pray a novena to John Paul. This morning, I received another email asking if anyone had a relic of John Paul that we could use when we pray our novena. I remembered that some of you moms had mentioned emailing the Vatican for such a relic. I did this a while back... but have not received mine yet.

Does anyone out there have a relic that they would mine sharing with me? I would promise to care for it with much love and would return it to you promptly after our novena. Just a thought--if anyone can help, please PM me. I am just sick about this poor little baby.

Wouldn't it be great if John Paul could get that final miracle and become St. John Paul and little Trey could be healed at the same time?

I know you all are keeping Trey in your prayers--thank you so much!

Jennifer, I sure hope that you find access to a relic soon. I continue to pray for Trey and all who love him.

We have been thinking about him and will continue to storm Heaven for this precious little boy

I'm so very sorry. I wish I could help with the relic. We will ask John Paul to intercede.

I meant to reply to this, but got a computer virus a few weeks ago and haven't had much time online until we got it all sorted out this past weekend.

I have a rosary that Pope John Paul II gave me. I am currently using it to pray for his intercession for healing for my cousin who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, so I'm afraid I can't send it to you. But I just wanted you to know that I have added Trey to my intentions when I pray with this relic.

Thank you so much for your prayers through the intercession of our beloved John Paul! Trey is doing well and is scheduled for his second round of chemo beginning on Thursday. All your prayers are holding this family up, thank you!

I should have posted that Michelle W. kindly lent me a relic of John Paul II. It is a Rosary that was given to her uncle (a priest) by John Paul himself, making it a second class relic. We are carefully passing it around some families in our homeschool group and praying to JPII for Trey.

We are also praying to Blesssed William Joseph Chaminade and asking his special intercession. I plan on posting the intercessory prayer to Blessed Chaminade on my blog today or tomorrow if any of you would like to join us.

Once again, thanks from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers. Trey has had a bit more energy and been able to play since Friday, his port site is healing and now they are gearing up for the second (five rounds total) round of chemo.
