I thought I had posted this yesterday. 
My father, who had a liver transplant July 31, is having surgery on the casing of his lung this morning. The casing has been filling with fluid for months because the lung is partially collapsed. He has trouble breathing and is on oxygen all the time. They plan to fuse the two linings together so that they don't fill with fluid anymore. (Any medically knowledgeable people will forgive me if I butchered anatomy just now and got it all wrong. I am explaining things as best I can!) The transplant complicates everything, so prayers would be appreciated!
Today is also his birthday, so he is truly living Holy Week and I pray for abundant blessings for him on this day. Thank you all!

I will be praying today (Good Friday morning) and remembering your dear father's needs and all the prayer intentions on the forum at the Stations of the Cross.
Such a big operation, I will pray for a quick recovery with no complications.

Thank you all for the prayers. My father has been out of surgery for a while, but my mother was just able to see him. He is in intensive care. The surgery went well, they think, but now they can't stabilize his blood pressure. It is extremely low, and they don't know why. Some think he has internal bleeding and they keep giving him transfusions. Others think it's something else. We all appreciate the prayers!

Thank you all! They gave my dad more blood and his blood pressure is stable now. He has a great nurse in ICU, so my mother felt that she was leaving him in good hands when they said she had to go. Hopefully he'll have 4 or 5 days in the hospital and then will be able to go home.
