Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Will you please pray for speedy healing for my 2yod Lucia's arm?

I was trying to mediate a toy squabble last night and grabbed Lucia's hand to keep her from running away from me. She pulled away really hard while I was holding her hand and now her arm is hurting her a lot. At first, I thought it was a pulled elbow, but it's still not better after we took her to the doctor to have it reduced. The nurse practitioner who saw her thinks she may have soft tissue damage around her wrist. Dh took her to have an x-ray done to rule out a fracture. Anyway, I'm feeling like a really rotten mommy right now. I wish my arm were hurting instead. Please pray that whatever is wrong can be fixed quickly so my little one won't be in pain anymore.

Thanks.
Dawn

Praying, Dawn!

Sometime I'll tell everyone the story of how I ran over my oldest daughter's foot with the car.....

Well, the x-ray showed no fracture, so I guess that's good.

But Lucia is still in a lot of pain. We're giving her ibuprofen, but she doesn't want anyone to touch her arm at all and cries when she tries to move it. It's wrapped up in an ace bandage right now. This kid is NOT a faker when it comes to injuries. She normally doesn't cry after a fall or whatever unless she is really hurting. So, I'm very concerned.

The nurse practitioner called this afternoon to tell me to watch for more swelling, increased pain, bruising, and Lucia not being able to move her fingers. She said that if any of that happens to take her straight to the ER. She also said to check back with the office in a couple of days. I'm still really worried...the nurse said it must be some kind of soft tissue damage, like a sprain? I didn't realize a sprain could hurt so much. I'm really hoping things are better tomorrow morning. Anybody else have a kid with an injury like this? How long before he/she felt better?

Thanks for your prayers.

Dawn

Praying for Lucia's arm and for your peace of mind (not your fault! - it was an accident, plain and simple)

Continuing to pray. Yes, sprains hurt a lot -- sometimes more than a fracture.

Peace,
Nancy

My 6 y.o.daughter had some kind of sprain in her ankle from a sledding accident this winter. It took at least a week to go away. And even now the pain can come back briefly if she sits on it funny. It will get better. My oldest dd's name is Lucia, too!
