Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about Susan Wise Bauer's new book (for high schoolers and adults) The History of the Ancient World: From the Earliest Accounts to the Fall of Rome?

I just saw it in passing at Barnes & Noble this morning. It's HUGE and looks interesting ...

Susan has a blog where she has been chronicaling the process of getting her History of the world written and published. Very interesting. I believe this is just the first volume of several to be written by her. I don't have the link at present, but I am sure it could easily be googled.

I check out her blog here and there, and it's always interesting to hear what she's doing and learn more about the publishing process.

Her new book sure looks intriguing. If anyone has info on the content quality, I'm all ears!
