Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was on my way (and yes, in a hurry) to music lessons with the kids when this young couple who were apparently just married as he ahd a tux on and she had a white veil leisurely pulled out in front of me and tootled down a 40 mile per hour road at 25, occasionally braking to slow down even more. Isn't it unlawful to obstruct traffic? Well, anyway, I laid on the horn to get him moving and what does he do? He fl**s me off! Can you imagine your husband doing that to someone on your wedding day? I would not have been a happy camper as a new wife.

I was so incensed. My children were there to witness this! I called the man a moron. I'm not proud of that. But then I pulled myself together enough to say, "I will pray for conversion of your souls!" Ooooooh, I'm so bad.

This happened to me once before several years ago when a *lady* parked in a drive-through at a baseball parking lot. I beeped at her. She pretended I didn't exist (in my conversion van). So I rolled down my window and asked her to move her car and she called me white trash and spewed forth ever so many expletives that I wouldn't even say *without* the children present.

What's wrong with people these days? Is it the influence of the media that hardens their hearts?

Tina,
just from the way I hear parents correct their children in the stores I would say, Yes, hearts are as hard as stone.

I understand, Tina. I'll never forget the first time a "gentleman" gave me the one finger salute. I was appalled that he'd do it!
