Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is there something about being over 35 that might make cycles change? I'm going to be 37 in July. Previously, when my cycle returned after nursing it wasn't any different than usual, but this time it is. I don't want to be graphic on the board here.

I guess I'm just wondering if there are certain things that are typical. I know a few of you are NFP certified and may be more familiar with cycle irregularities . If someone wants to pm me to discuss specifics, I'd be grateful.

Oh, I would like to read any answers to this. I will be 44 the end of the month, and I am experiencing some differences. Ds was weaned about a year ago, and nothing seems the same.

God Bless,

It is normal for a woman's cycle to change as she approaches menopause, but 36/37 seems young to me for you to be seeing really dramatic changes unless you have a family history of early menopause.

On the other hand it is very common for as many as the first 6-8 cycles while breastfeeding or after weaning to be irregular or seem a little 'off' so if your cycles have just returned recently the differences you are seeing are probably just the result of your body not being completely adjusted yet.

I am a certified NFP teacher and if no one else has PMed you and/or you have more specific questions you are welcome to email me at sfp@thosepetersons.com

Thanks for the post! Another NFP teacher emailed me about a week ago and made some suggestions...they seem to have worked, since we are pregnant now (just posted this tonight on the board). According to her, what I'm seeing is typical of either the Dr. Lee type premenopause or being older/my cycle taking longer to normalize. Not sure which it is, but so grateful to know I can still conceive, and praying like crazy for a healthy birth, too.

Thanks so much.
