Hi Ladies,
Some of you may remember my thread for prayers when I was diagnosed with a single umbilical artery. Well, since then I have changed OBs and tomorrow is my first visit with my new OB (and my first visit with an OB since I was diagnosed which was 6 weeks ago). I am nervous about this visit. I am not really worried about the SUA, but mostly about my bp. With my first pregnancy my bp rose at the very end (at the 39th wk appt) and since then my bp has never gone back to how good it was before that pregnancy. I think that some of it has to do with white coat syndrome, but I can't be sure. I was at the grocery store today and saw one of those bp testers and I got nervous just looking at it  So, I need some prayers for my peace tomorrow. My appt is in the afternoon, so I feel like I have all day to stew about it Also, I need some prayers just for the overall visit. That I feel comfortable with the new practice.

You have my prayers, Beth.
I have had elevated bp with each of my pregnancies. It has been up since the last one.  Not horrible, but not great. I will pray for your health, your baby's and your peace of mind!

Praying, Beth....there are a lot of us pregnant that have major white coat syndrome.
Something that really helped when I saw MY new OB a few weeks ago, (I too switched, and she was SOOO much better), was to be very up front about my BP....ask them to let me chill out on my side on the (very uncomfortable ) exam table for a while after the visit was done, instead of taking it at the beginning...mine did much better that way. Sometimes they can tell it is nerves if your heart rate is way up there too...take that before you go tomorrow. They will probably insist you take the BP at home....it is a good way to desensitize you to taking it, you can get a little portable hand held one for under $50...
That all said....I know my BP is borderline...it can be a serious health concern for mama and baby both....so keep tabs on it at home, write down your readings..
I will be praying for you, I have another visit tomorrow too!!! Pray for me!!

Beth,
Praying for you here. Continue to pray for peace. Let go and give over the anxiety to Him. Ask our Blessed Mother to pray for you. My bp is elevated during pregnancy as well. With my sweet newborn (born 4 days ago!), it was creeping with every week and at 41 weeks one day I was realllly beginning to get nervous. It wasn't borderline at the beginning of labor and I was quite worried about it shooting up there with the work of labor. Paradoxically, during the most active stage of labor, it was down by 20 points!
I knew why, but I asked the midwife how could that be anyway and she answered "grace.... that's the only explanation." Prayer works.
You're in my prayers.
