His name is Richard and he is just 25 years old. Last night I found out that he has been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer.
I don't know all the details, just that he went to the doctor with flu like symptoms and they found a large --softball size-- mass in his chest. He is now at the University of Pennsylvania receiving chemo and radiation.
I got to know this young man last year when he was the RCIA sponsor for his then girlfriend, now fiancee. I don't know the date of their wedding but I know it was supposed to be sometime this year.
Please pray.

Update: Richard has Precursor T cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.
He has a long fight ahead of him but he's a very determined young man and he has a lot of people praying for him.
I spoke to his parents last week after mass and they looked very tired but told me they can literally feel the support of all the prayers.
Richard's fiancee Daphne set up a blog so we can all keep updated on Richard and leave him messages. Here's the link:

Sounds like Hodgkins Disease Michele. Those are the symptoms, right age demographic, and that's where the tumors often appear. I'll pray for him, certainly and if I can be of any other help, please let me know.

I will pray fro him, I was 25 when I was diagnosed with Hodgkins! I was engaged to be married as well! My prayers are with him, if you can send an address I would like to send him a card.

MIchele I am bumping this up, as I cannot stop thinking of this man. Any news?
I think Molly or Irene knew of another man in a similar situaltion, I have been praying for them daily, just wondering how they are doing.
