Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I wasn't sure what topic to post this under.
I know I should have taken it off a couple weeks ago, when I noticed it getting tight. Usually during pregnancy my fingers don't swell until the end, and I have 2 months to go. Anyway my engagment ring came off easily, but my wedding ring is stuck. I've tried soaking it in ice water, vegetable oil, butter, lotion, and even preperation H (we thought it might reduce the swelling) Any other ideas before I go have it cut off?

I don't know how fastit would work but upping your B6 and magneseum works well to reduce fluid retention and swelling in pregnancy. Do a search for the toxicity levels of these and figure how much extra you can take based on how much is in your prenatal right now. I have heard of it helping as fast as a couple of days.

Hi Jen,
I take an alfalfa supplement during pregnancy in addition to others. Well, I always take it, I just increase it while I'm pregnant. It helps me tremendously with keeping my swelling down. I know, it sounds odd - I used to think so too. But it has worked for me!
God bless and good luck with the ring!

I am NO help - I waited too long, suffered swelling of fingers big time and I had to get my wedding ring cut off my finger during pregnancy number 6 - and I have never ( to date!) got a replacement!

Leonie,
Thats what I'm afraid of. I know we will not have the extra cash to fix the ring. Well, maybe we will, but I know I'd rather allocate the money to books instead!
At least I'm not the only one.

I am going to pray for you right now and remember you during Mass tomorrow.

A few years ago, my daughter stuck a Madame Alexander doll in a large Poland Spring bottle (the kind that goes on the water dispenser). It was the type of thing that would go in easily enough if forced, but it appeared impossible to get out because of the large plastic head stuck on the doll's head (and the difficulty of getting any kind of grip inside the narrow neck of the jar). After quite a while of trying, I jokingly told her to pray to St. Jude (my joke being that this was an "impossible cause"). She took me very seriously and began an earnest prayer. When I tell you that the doll practically slipped out seconds later, I mean it--it was truly a minor miracle. My daughter has been very devoted to St. Jude ever since.

Anyway, I mention this because your situation is somewhat similar (though far more difficult). Please keep us updated!
