Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just had to share this.

This evening, for the very first time, my children said a whole rosary! Da-daaa! Blaze of trumpets! They've never said more than a couple of decades before, but I took a leaf out of Alice's book and started saying it on the landing straight after everyone went to bed. I just told them what I was doing and said they could join in for as much or as little as they liked.

Well, they all wanted to join in, and the two eldest said the whole thing! From choice!

Well, I was feeling so proud of myself as I came downstairs... until two of the children (identities concealed to spare their blushes) started a big fight, which culminated in one of them kicking the other one out of bed. A bunk bed. The top bunk.

I hope and pray that the injured party was ok -- think that guardian angel was working hard tonight -- but boy, was I brought back to earth with a bump. Literally.

Satan always tries to spoil special moments like that.

Praying he won't succeed next time.

Blessings,
Krisann

Amen, Krisann. I stand in agreement with that!

How great though Elizabeth. They choose to do it!

No, no. Thats God just keeping you humble. He is very good to us that way.    Hope your injured party is OK.

First of all, how wonderful that your children wanted to participate!!! That is just great. I also agree wholeheartedly with Krisann. One of the worst times I ever had trying to read to my children occurred when we started "Story of a Soul." It occurred to me that the unholy one might be at work to spoil things.

Oh Elizabeth

I can RELATE It is Satan. Last Monday we started back at our lessons and the day started DURING prayers with a fight which culiminated after prayers into a fist fight Then I reminded myself as to who wouldn't want me to succed in hs. So I know who doesn't want you to succed in praying the rosary.

I have always used the 'you can go to bed if you don't want to join in' It works they always decide to pray

The title of this thread made me so CURIOUS!

Good for your kids! That's great. But doesn't it sure seem like in prayer life sometimes it can be one step forward, two steps back ?

We have been having problems as of late with bed time prayers. It hadn't occured to me that it might be a battle with Satan. Perhaps I should start to pray for peaceful prayer time.

We usuaualy follow the Rosary with the St. Michael prayer....this thread makes me think it might be good to begin AND end with the St. Michael prayer! :)
