Hi everyone,
I'm taking a moment to ask for prayers for what has turned out to be a red-letter day for me. Today I found my first gray hair  , was diagnosed with a severe urinary tract infection  AND kidney stones  . Apparently I have multiple small stones and the dr. in the ER thinks I've already passed at least one of them. The pain, combined with recovery from Caleb's birth is just so...well, I'm frustrated that I can't do anything about this to make it any better. I did get an antibiotic for the infection but they couldn't give me much for kidney stone pain because of breastfeeding. The silver lining to all of this: at least it has happened now (in Feb.) and not during planting or harvesting season when I'd be "on my own" dealing with this.
I wonder why so many women seem to get/pass kidney stones during or just after a pregnancy...

Agh!!!!!! Kristine, as you probably know, this happened to me right after Eileen was born. The pain came on so suddenly, and I had absolutely no idea what was wrong. It was so scary--I thought I might be dying and came very close to calling an ambulance, because I was home alone with the kids and couldn't reach dh.
Praying for you. I do not really know why it gets worse after pregnancy, but it does seem to be a common experience.

Oh Kristine, I so know your pain Have you asked your doctor whether you can take Vicodin? I took it for 3 months while pregnant with a 10mm kidney stone, and then took it for 3-4 weeks after giving birth (had to wean myself off the meds). I will be praying for you.
