Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Seems I'm not the only one. Whew! sweet relief.

How many of you do this? And what book is in your "pocketbook" at the moment?

Me! Currently I have Bill Bryson's "In a Sunburned Country." Always good for a snicker or two!

Thanks to rave reviews from many 4Real friends, I have Katherine Valentine's A Gathering of Angels. What a great writer!

Hello, Cay! What a fun question!

I think I am not alone on these boards in saying "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin" by St. Louis de Montfort is in my purse at the moment. (It has displaced Boree Log, at least for the time being, but don't worry, my Father O'Brien poetry is only an arm's length away.)

You're so right, Alice! True Devotion is in my bag, too.

Make that three with "True Devotion" in their bag or purse.

I don't carry a purse, though. Does my pocket count??

Paula,
I was a little surprised to see MacBeth say:

MacBeth with a purse!!! I'm having trouble with a visual here. I would have thought she'd say "knapsack."

I'm carrying Volume 6 from Charlotte Mason's original series, but I need to clean out my purse because the book sticks out the top and I'm afraid I'm going to lose it!
And Cay, do you still have your House of Literature site?

Oh, dear. Cay's correct! I never carry a purse--I tend to put handbags down and walk away. I use a large waist-pack for normal days (the kids call it my "pouch"), and a day pack for hikes. Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression !

We usually have a book in the "door pocket". Can I say that?

Usually it has to do with Daddy stopping at a store saying, "I'll be just a few minutes." Then the kids chime in with, "Mom, can you read us the book?"('')

Becky,
It's still up (with those dreadful pop-up ads ) but I haven't updated it in forever! My blog is where everything happens.

But here's the website:
House of Literature
