Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd is so excited about the new baby - and really wants to carry her baby doll in a sling. Does anyone have any idea about where to buy or how to make one?

That is a great idea!
Maybe Michele could give us a simplified version of her sling pattern for moms?????

Buy one from Julie Howard, a Catholic homeschooler, at

Julie's Stuff!

I bought three for Christmas for my little girls and they love them.

Oh yeah and this would be super simple to make. It's a piece of cloth and 2 rings.

My friend made one for my dd -- just two pieces of fleece sewn together in a tube shape but with a baggier bit in the middle to accommodate the dolly (or, in our case, the bunny ) then worn over one shoulder.

Another place to buy cute baby doll slings is

www.peapods.com. The business was started and is run by a local homeschooling mother of three. They also have beautiful wooden toys.

Thanks for all the ideas. Julie's stuff looks like a promising one though is out of stock. The others seem to be only for girls up to 6 years old. My dd is 10 (and still playing with all kinds of dolls!)

I didn't know the doll slings only went up to age 6. Good to know.

If your daughter is 10 maybe you could just get her a regular grown-up one. I bet you could find one used on-line or at a garage sale. Or maybe you could share yours!!
