Just over 4 years ago, my bil was diagnosed with testicular cancer. They removed the testicle. And they went with a rather aggressive surgery to remove a bunch of his abdominal lymph nodes as the cancer was an aggressive form. All this happened in the months right before and after they had their first son. Talk about stress! Two years later my sister easily conceived and gave birth to a sweet baby girl and his yearly oncologist visits have been great.
This Friday his visit was not so great. His blood tests showed low white cell and platelet counts, both possible signs that the cancer may have returned. He has to return in a month to repeat the blood test. The good news is they said we'll see you in a month (not tomorrow or next week). The bad news is that they didn't say we'll see you next year. My sister is a huge worrier by nature. And her relationship with God is not really completely solid since she left the Church and is a practicing Lutheran. She doesn't deal well with trials.
So prayers for some peace in the next month and nothing short of a miracle when they repeat the blood test  .
