Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For those of you that don't live in large cities and have to order First Communion Dresses on line, where do you get them? I noticed Leaflet Missal had some, but every one I clicked on was "out of stock". Any suggestions on where I can look? (Sadly, I don't sew or I would make one for her myself.)
Thanks

Last year we were able to purchase a FHC dress from Sears online. They were by far the most reasonably priced. We were able to get her veil at a local catholic gift shop.

Hope this helps!

Also I believe JC Penney carries them.. and you can just look for any girls dress in white. Specialty children's clothing stores often have very nice dresses. Depends on how much you want to spend. You can also try Ebay.

There is an Ebay store, I beleive daffodils and dandilions (sp??), that sells beautiful dresses. My dd was a flower girl in November and that is where her dress came from. The dress was very reasonable, good quality, and fast shipping.

There is a company called Storybook Heirlooms that sells beautiful FHC dresses, kind of expensive though. They have some great sales right now though, but the size 8's are GONE. Have you done a google search? There are actually lots of websites that sell the dresses, some more expensive and elaborate than others. My favorite is Storybook though.

Well our dd received her FHC in October - no white anywhere it seemed. I was frantic and dd reminded me that it was Jesus that was important, not the dress (what wisdom in dc). Anyways, we did pray a Novena to ST. Teresa of Liseaux - and the very next day found a beautiful white dress tucked in a back room - 80% off. It was all white, of course, but on the overlay it had all these little roses. So while I cannot recommend a particlur store, I will suggest a novena to St. Terese'. My dd even dictated and illustrated the whole story. It still makes me cry!

Well, I took a chance and ordered a dress from Storybook Heirlooms online. I say "took a chance" because they are going out of business and are not accepting any returns or exchanged. I measured my Mary and she could probably wear either a 7 or 8 and I got her the Ivory Venice Lace Dress in a size 7. It was $39 plus tax and shipping... a great deal, IMO. So if it doesn't fit, I'll have a really nice dress to sell to someone.

I found that other ebay store referenced above. It has a very few white dresses. I couldn't find anything in my search on J.C. Penney's website.

FWIW,
JoAnna in NC
