You'd think I would know this by now, but when does a mom usually feel her baby move? I'm about 16 weeks pregnant, and probably a little paranoid after 3 miscarriages, but I haven't felt any movement yet and I can't remember if that is normal. Of course, I could just be too busy chasing my other kids around to notice it!

Becky,
I was 18 weeks with several of mine before I felt movement.

Very normal, Becky! I didn't feel this most recent baby till 18 or 19 weeks. I know they say that moms usually feel the baby earlier after the first pregnancy, but I didn't really find that to be true.
Have you heard the heartbeat yet? Is it very long till your next appt? Maybe you'd feel better if you just popped in and had them let you hear the heartbeat?
I will be praying for you and your littlest one!

Very normal indeed! Especially for a busy mom.
I know the paranoia, though, after so many miscarriages. I worried with Ramona, too, but starting feeling her move around 17 or 18 weeks, I think.
Hang in there, and prayers for you!

I worried about the little one I'm carrying now at about the same time. I realized that I just never sat still enough to notice and within a few weeks I felt the baby moving regularly.

I second what everyone else has said. At one appointment around 16 weeks, the doctor seemed surprised I wasn't feeling anything yet. Got me a little worried! But within two weeks I was starting to feel flutters. We're praying for you!
God bless,
Angela

Thanks everyone. I feel better knowing this is more common than I thought. I haven't wanted to express my concern to dh or he would worry too. I have heard the babies heartbeat and we even had an ultrasound at 12 weeks so I know everything was okay. It's just that we lost one right around 16 weeks so I'm always a bit paranoid til we get past that point. (Almost there!) I have my next appointment in a week so it will be good to hear the heartbeat again. Thanks for the prayers and encouraging words!
Blessings!

i just saw this thread and agree with all the others. i didn't feel my last one move until almost 19 weeks. I had more belly fat and I was sooo busy I just never felt her move. I hope you feel peace - i will pray for that for you.

I'm going to chime in with the others.
I know the days I am busiest or simply more preoccupied, those little early flutters can pass unnoticed.

Becky - I am 15 weeks and feeling the same. I am awaiting my 16 week check next week - just so i can hear the heartbeat and feel reassured.
Praying for you.

I felt some movement but not very much until week 20 something and this is my fourth pregnancy. A nurse friend of mine asked if I knew where my placenta was - so I asked my midwife and she told me it was in the front - a likely explanation of why I haven't felt much compared to the last three times.
