I am looking--have been looking for--a grapevine tree/pyramid shaped cone "thing" to put on my table beside my front door. I have bought little decorations for a thing I don't have yet...and cannot find ANYWHERE. I know that they exist...I see them places...but not anywhere that I can find them for sale--and no one who works at these places can tell me either. It is very frustrating.

I first read about them years ago, in a book called "Victorian Family Celebrations" by Sarah Ban Breathnach (I believe it is now out of print). EXCELLENT BOOK! I have fortunately held onto mine, lol. But there isn't apparently anyone selling these tree things, and I really want one! LOL

Do any of you live in grapevine country? Know where I might be able to find one of these things?

Could you form your own over a wire mold? I've seen dark green wire cones before. Or you could use styrofoam as the base to mold around and remove the styrofoam after it is formed, of course.

You could dismantle a cheap grapevine wreath if you can't find vines...

I'm in NC.
How big are the ones you have? I know that they would be a pain to pack and ship....

I've considered making my own, but I had thought it would be easier to just buy some already made...but since I can't find them...lol

I saw some done in a different way - stacking descending sizes of grapevine wreaths. These were large Christmas decorations and each wreath was placed a couple inches apart - attached to a willow pyramid, maybe??. It was really cute and something I will do next year.

My problem is, is that I don't need a HUGE one. Just a small table-top sized one...I've considered stacking the wreaths...but not sure if that would work well.

I finally got around to measuring them. 18 inches tall and 6.5 inches around at the base.

I had this fabulous idea that I was going to use them for. That was 5 years ago and I can't remember what my idea was now...
