This is not meant to be whining. I'm just hoping someone has some helpful advice.
I've been feeling under the weather this weekend. My main symptom is I hurt and ache all over. But I have no fever, actually below normal. I have some sinus drainage and sore throat, so maybe this is a mild cold, but the achiness is throwing me off.
So, if it is a virus, any helpful advice to get this to run its course?

Dear Jenn - I have had a similar thing since last Thursday. My kids had some kind of mild virus - but it is worse for me - just as the nausea was starting to take a turn! I have been drinking a lot of chicken broth - and taking a little extra Vitamin C and Sambucol (kids one) when my stomach can tolerate it. The sinus thing is driving me crazy - I am now sniffing Olbas oil on a tissue and sleeping on a mountain of pillows.
I will pray for you - sleep a lot if you can, drink water and broths and take extra Vitamin C and Elderberry if you can tolerate.
Hugs
Marilyn

Jenn, this is exactly how I was right after Christmas while my kids seemed to have the flu (fevers, throwing up). I never had a high temp but for one night, and it lasted 1 1/2 weeks. Hope you feel better soon -- will be praying.

That is exactly how I had been feeling. It started with just a sinus headache and stuffy head on Wednesday, the next day I had a high fever and chills. Friday I decided to go to the doctor and it turned out it was strep and now everyone has it.
We all thought it was the flu going around because no one had a sore throat except Sam. Three family memebers had no symptoms until today, they are achy with stuffy noses and sneezing. (NOW my throat is hurting and we have all started coughing terribly ).
You might want to get checked out to make sure it isn't a strep type infection rather than just a cold or flu. As far as helpful rememdies I am afraid I haven't any. Nothing has really helped here except Tylenol. So far the antibiotics haven't even started to kick in.
Hope you are feeling better very soon!
Blessings,
Krisann

Some more advice? It's been a week and I'm puzzled. I've never had a fever throughout the week. I have a cough and post nasal drip, but no nasal congestion.
And still the body aches. It's muscle aches all over, weak, fatigued. I felt like this when I had chronic mastitis years ago...just drained from taking a shower, could barely lift my arms.
But no flu or fever symptoms, no strep symptoms...I'm just scratching my head. Dh wants me to go to the doctor, but for what? I'm not "toxic"...

All I can think of is sinus infection even without the congestion. That aching and fatigue means something. I'm with your dh. I usually don't get a fever with sinus infections. But that fatigue worries me...with me it's always something bacterial. I've been thinking of you all week; hope it clears up soon!

Gwen, THANK YOU for replying. It's the same way with me, when I get the body aches it's always been bacterial infections. It's now been my red flag for the last 6 years. But since I didn't have any acute symptoms beforehand I was doubting myself. You're just giving me the reassurance I needed. I'll make that appointment.

Jenn,
It probably wouldn't do much good at this late juncture, but garlic is a natural anti-biotic. When I feel the need for it, I take it in copious amounts - in tablet form. Just a thought.
God bless,
Angela

Just another thought or two...
My entire family had strep 2 years ago and most of us were without symptoms. All I had was fatigue and a little achiness.
My nutritionist told me that people can be very sick and not run a fever. Running a fever is actually a sign of a well functioning immune system. Her son had such a poor immune system he never ran a fever as a child in spite of being quite ill.
Hope you feel better soon and glad you are getting it checked out! Take care.
Anne

Ever keep up a stiff upper lip until one small question or thing just triggers the meltdown? Your little question just did me in!
I'm doing okay, not great. I can function on minimum drive, so that's what I'm doing. I'm thinking it must be a weird virus and just go on with life. My doctor was concerned, but ran blood tests and so far almost all have come back negative. Waiting for one or two.
But I know my track record. They never find anything. Ever think you get these things just so you can offer it up for others? It's one of THOSE times.

Oh, Jenn, I am praying for you. It's so hard when you are not feeling your best.
I have to ask, did they test you for Lyme Disease?
