Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

If you're in the mood for an
Owls Unit Study/Rabbit Trail, here's what we're doing for January!

It's mainly geared towards the Pre-K crowd, but can be easily adapted for an older crowd too!! Enjoy!

It'll Be a Hoot!

Meredith, this is so great! I just printed out your lesson plan. As I mentioned at your blog, my 7yo just said to me the other day, "Mama can we just learn about OWLS today in our homeschool?"

We picked up All About Owls and the movie "Hoot" at the library. (I know Hoot is not for pre-K but my older two enjoyed it and it brings up a nice element of conservation, another theme we like to explore.)

Another owl book that is a favorite of ours is Owl at Home. It's a riot!

We also love Mr. Rogers and I found an X the Owl coloring page at pbskids.org.

Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!!

Oh Dawn how could I have forgotten the Arnold Lobel books!! We have ALL of them, I'm up the stairs to add them to our basket!! Matthias read these in 1st and 2nd grade, they were his favorite readers and so they were put on his bookshelves after we moved in. Thanks for the reminder! Have fun and I'm so glad you can do some of it too!!
