Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My son was given a set of Oil Pastels for Christmas. How do I use them? Do I need special paper? I assume they don't wash off clothes, right?

I use them outside in the summer wearing old clothes or bathing suits . The children know they are forbidden to use them in the house. Even my teens use them only on newspaper and wearing smocks or such. They make a huge oily mess, think oily chalk. But when they are used properly on heavy-to-medium weight paper, they make bright, beautiful, bold pictures.

I'm vaguely remembering that we sprayed them with something to set the pastels or else it continues to rub off if touched. Am I remembering correctly that it was oil pastels? And if so, what did we spray it with?
