Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone recommend any activity books I can use with my 6 and 8 year olds using linking cubes? They are really interested in multiplication.

I went to a teacher's store this morning and could not find anything. I was actually dissapointed in their selection. Where do you all buy your books and manipulatives?

God bless.

This Book by Kathy Richardson is FULL of activities using unifix cubes. Its it very incremental, beginning with the concept of regrouping, Base 10, then addition and subtraction, and finally multiplication and division.

I used it when I was teaching 1st/2nd grade combo in public school. For one or two students, going through the book would be overkill and tedious, but you could certainly pull out specific activities and games that meet the needs of your kids.

I continue to buy Math Books from Marilyn Burns' Math Solutions These are my favorite math activity books.

I also remembered This Post on Meredith's Blog from last Septemeber. Here, she shows a lot of the wonderful math manipulatives that she uses in her learning space. I'll bet that she has some ideas for activities and also where to buy them.
HTH!

Yes, vacation is fun, but you can tell where my heart is, huh?

And reading this forum without interruption is truly a luxury!

Flying home tonight...starting a Russia geography unit on Monday!

Shawna, thank you so much for the links. I have never heard of this website before. I'm going to take a look at it this week.

God bless,
