I would love to read everyone's reviews on the top toys that were received this Christmas. The top 2 here were:
A wooden treehouse - I love that it is so multi sided/open that many can play with it at once without fighting. The customer service for this company was awesome too.

Plasma cars - work wonderfully on laminate flooring and big enough for 2 toddlers to ride on together.
Please let me know what was a hit at your house.

I have always wanted one of these - they look so cute.
Our top toys/games were:
A couple Gamewright games (love that company)
Scrambled States of America
There's a Moose in the House
They are really quick to play - good for multiple ages so everyone enjoys them.
and the Settlers of Cataan board game - they had only played the on-line verison before.

Best toys received this year?
The 28 quart Rubbermaid container filled to the top with every imaginable Lego product made.
From my brother. His kids had outgrown them. He put it in our trunk when we were saying goodbye. The kids have not looked at any of the gifts they received as they are too busy building with Legos.

Santa brought that a few years back and it is much loved around here! Have fun!
Aquadoodle for the youngest. (Though he really doesn't like the sounds the little train makes  so Thomas is in hiding for a while.  )
The older two loved the Lego kits they got. They always love those the best. And now that they are 7 and 11 they can work on them together.

Playmobil castle- It was hard to convince the grandparents that the kids would love it but they were able to see the evidence with their own eyes!
Lapharp by Heartsongs- Instant success
Snap Circuits- another toy the grandparents weren't quite sure of as it looked too educational.  Our newly turned 10yo ds has described it as his most precious possession! His Lego knight sets came in a close 2nd.
Unfortunately we did not find a toy that would keep the almost- 2yo enthralled for large chunks of time

American Girl Doll (Molly)
Diecast Disney Pixar "Cars" - Tow Mater, Lighning McQeen, Sally, and Doc Hudson (for the 2 yr old 3 mo boy - who is cuddling them in bed as I type)
Oh...and mommy LOVE LOVE LOVES her handheld Sudoko game  a little too much

Would you believe a Rubik's Cube?! It got passed around the table at my mom's, with all the adults reminiscing when they could solve it!
My little girls love their slings from www.juliestuff.com!
Other than that, nothing really seems to be a hit. Unless you count my dh's gift from me: an x-box game where he gets to be an NFL coach and try to get his team to the Super Bowl. What was I thinking!!!
Oh, one thing- I got my girls Russian-made Matrushkas from a company called Lee Valley Tools. They are quite pretty, with five pieces, the smallest being about an inch tall. The girls are playing with them constantly. I have some of my own that I bought years ago when I visited Russia so the girls really wanted their own that they were allowed to play with. They were only $11.50 each!
Of course, my order from Hearthsong, placed weeks ago, isn't here yet, so, hopefully, I might have another hit or two on my hands.

Our 15yo ds has been very busy with this Erector set Remote Control Hummer
I did not realize this was so expensive. I found it at Marshall's before Thanksgiving for $40. I also found these Newborn Twins with Stroller at the same Marshall's for $20. This has been a huge hit with 2 yo dd.
I am absolutely going nowhere next year before I check Marshalls!!

Radio Flyer Scooter -- for the little ones.
Knight's Kingdom figures are popular in this house, too.
A cheapie cassette player --here the sound is not that great; but my 7yo absolutely loves it and carries it around everywhere with him.

Overall winner - the Junior Snap Circuits set (mentioned above) - enjoyed by all - Dad, 7 year old boys (who received the gift), 10 year daughter and 2 year old son.
Next - The All American Trivia Board Game (Junior edition) - really is awesome. All games turn into heated competition in our house (the competition between mom and dad is maybe the strongest!!!) Great way to learn US History and Geography too without even trying.
(I would like the second the Scrambled States of American game mentioned above - we received it 4 years ago - and it is probably the most played with board game in our house)
For the 2 year old - he loves his Imaginetics United States of America - plays with it all the time. Also his Lauri perceptions car puzzle and his drum set.
10 yo dd - calligraphy set and American Girl paper dolls
7 year old rock hounds - their rock collection.
Me - my aromatherapy booties and Scott Hahn cds

Ah, this was my own personal favorite, too!
Our old slow cooker was a wedding present and almost 22 years old, and only about 2.5 quarts capacity!

Let's see...
All the kids love the play kitchen the three year old and one year old received...makes me feel really guilty about getting ridof our old one years ago.
Dd 9-a life-size rag doll.
Ds8-loves his video/karaoke machine. It is a pretty funny thing. It's not really a video camera, as it does not record, but the kids can view themselves on the tv if we plug the machine in to the tv.
Ds 6-a robot that his grandmother gave him.
Ds5- CHerry wood blocks from MAgic Cabin and some cheap plastic soldiers.
We also bought all of the kids a beginners CHess board game and a Battleship game. They same to love those as well.

Favorite toys in our house would be the V-tech laptop computers. Dd 6 and dd10 each received one and everyone wants to try them.

Oooh, what a cool looking book, MacBeth! I see in the reviews, though, that it favors the eastern birds, so I wonder, is it worth it for the Texan birders? My son would love a book like this!
