Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a silly question but I was wondering for those of you moms that have read Karen Andreola's book Beautiful Girlhood, how did you approach it with your daughters?

Did you give them the book to read on their own? Did you read a chapter at a time together? Did you use the study guide companion? And at what age would you recommend your daughter read it?

My oldest daughter is almost 10 and we've been reading it together a bit.. take some time and stop and talk along the way.. unfortunately with everything else going on.. getting away just the two of us is HARD.. so it's taking a while.

This book has become part of our weekly tea time which we began during Advent. I read a chapter and we also use the study guide. I have found that reading it aloud opens up lots of great conversation and questions that might be missed if they were reading it on their own.

Would someone be willing to share what the study guide is like? My oldest dd is turning 10 in a few weeks and I was hoping to read this with her sometime soon.

Thank you for reminding me about this book, dd just turned 10 and it has been a few years between dd's. I'll have to get it out and start reading it with her.

God Bless
