Hi Everyone,
If you could possibly pray for my Dad, who is having surgery later today (12/18/06) - he needs to have a protion of one of his feet and potentially lower leg amputated due to complications from diabetes. Please pray for safety during the surgery, and that hopefully he will not lose as as little of his leg as possible. Also, he and my mom are both very stressed and depressed over his illness (he has ben in and out of the hopsital over the course of the past couple of years), and I am concerned that emotionally/spiritually, they are at the breaking point.

Hi Everyone!
I just got off the phone with my Dad, and so far, so good! They will be taking off the plaster cast this evening (Friday eve.) and putting a lighter weight bandage on him. Tomorrow he is supposed to be moved to the rehabilitation unit of the hospital. While he has begun some physical therapy and seems to be doing well, his greatest fear is that he will fall (which he in fact did do several times prior to the surgery because he couldn't feel the ground beneath him with his bad leg and foot). My greatest prayer for him right now is for continued motivation to recuperate. Dad has been very depressed (which we are hoping will also be addressed by his physicians....), which causes him to get discouraged very easily.
Thank you again all so much for your prayers and concern! It has been a great comfort to me, more than you know. Dad has been in the hospital for almost one month now, and we do not know when exactly he will be able to go home. While I have 2 siblings, they are not always very involved with our parents, so I have been trying to be there for my Mom and Dad as much as I possibly can be (we live in different states). I found out 2 weeks ago that I am expecting a 5th baby, and between all the different situations/stresses going on, it has left me exhausted.
Thank you again all so much for your prayers! I will update you as soon as I have more new information!
