Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

There was a small blurb in our bulletin this past week that our parrish is going to start a *Why Catholic?* series this spring.

I would like to know if any of you have heard of this or have any experience with it. Neither our parrish coordinator or DRE know about it, just that the Diocese was initiating it.

Thanks!

Paula,
I've seen this too, but really the only thing I know is that it is from Renew International, which gets a caution (yellow) from Catholic Culture. I hope someone can offer you something with more information.
God bless,
Angela

Our parish is planning to start this program during Lent and then continue it as the focus of adult faith formation for the next 4 years. I also am curious and, although I have not tried to research the program, somewhere in the pit of my stomach I feel uneasy about the matter. I hope someone here can help clarify what it's all about.

Peace,
Nancy

Oh yuck, Renew. Keep in mind that RENEW is connected to Call to Action and they have been excommunicated.

Personally I'd be very suspicious. Sorry to be a wet blanket.

Oh, Michele, you are not a wet blanket....well, maybe you have one with that adorable new baby!

I am very suspicious, considering that no one within our church knows anything about it. I have struggled with the members of this church for a few years now, and when we got a new priest this fall it seemed that things were changing. However, this is not the kind of change that I want to be involved in.

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far. I hope there are some others out here with personal experiences.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore implemented this program beginning this past September. A lot of folks participated...I'll see if I can find out what they thought.

My parish is very orthodox. The archdiocese is pretty conservative. Hopefully these are good signs...who knows.

I'll ask around...
