Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I wanted to thank all of you kind ladies for all of the encouraging emails and comments about the copywork pages I have been posting on my blog during Advent. Many of you have encouraged me to create and gather these pages together in formal copywork books. I've put together some ideas and sample pages on my blog today and am hoping for some feedback on how I can make this a useful resource. If you have a moment, please go to Catholic Copywork Books and let me know what you think.

As always, your work is beautiful and just what we need! I commented on your blog that I want two of each, but I neglected to say how wonderful they look!

Katherine,

Absolutely LOVE it!! I would purchase 2 of the cursive books for now and add more later for our daughter and any additional children we may have.

Thanks!

Katherine,
What the others said...
I love this idea and would need a beginner one and two cursive ones.

I went straight away and put a link on my Catholic Mosaic blog because this would offer such a richness to the liturgical year notebooks.

Oh, and to have this throughout the liturgical year... What insight!!! What offerings!

Thank you!

I love the pages and would purchase them as an e-file. I probably wouldn't buy a bound book because I'd like the flexibility of using the pages with other things and in other places. Also, I NEED to be able to provide for "do-overs." I have a house full of perfectionists.

I just got back from hosting gingerbread house decorating for our parish homeschool group and was blown away by all of the wonderful feedback from you ladies. I appreciate each and every comment and am so happy that this project is something that would benefit other Catholic homeschoolers.

Thank you, Cay, for linking me on the Catholic Mosaic blog.   That means so much to me.

And Elizabeth, Theresa also suggested e-files and I think I will end up offering the books in both hardcopy and e-file form.

I obviously need to get to work on finishing this! I hope to have it done before the baby is born. (I've got a trimester left.)

Thanks again.

I'd love it as an e-file, too!
Oh, and if anyone can get this done and perfectly, too, it's you!

This is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I said on your blog, I want one of the beginning manuscript, one of the cursive, and I like the font you are using. I would like the print version.
Perforated pages might be nice so that they could be taken out and added to other notebooks, etc. But that isn't really a necessity.
I really think this is the answer to my copywork prayers!

I would love these as an ebook. I would rather print when needed, and be able to put them into a lapbook. I just hate tearing up a binded resource!

Another vote for the e-book here.        We'd definitely use it!!!

We are a binder family as well; if it doesn't make it into a binder, it gets lost, wrecked or otherwise. Also, it would be nice to be able to re-print a page if someone "messes up" and wants to try again.

Thanks!

I'm looking into the details of the e-file option. I need to price the program and figure out how to use it. So I can't really say if or when they will be available in that format.   For those of you who want the option of placing the pages in a notebook, as I get printing bids, I'm going to ask about perforated pages. That way you can at least neatly remove them and easily make copies within your family.

I've also narrowed down the handwriting style offerings to Zaner Bloser, Italic and Handwriting Without Tears.

Thanks again for all of your feedback.

I love that you would have different handwriting styles offered. We use HWT. I'd like an e-file too!!

I'm behind here but love these!

I'd buy them either in e-file, or if you went with perforated, or loose pages -- as Elizabeth said, I'd love the flexibility of using them for other things, and wouldn't want a bound book.

Beautiful, Katherine!

Wow, I just got around to looking at them. I'd be more than happy to purchase this either form, especially if we had permission to copy for our own family's use. However, I'd probably prefer a hardcopy, although I could get my poor dh to print out from the e-version so I'd find them when I needed them. We'd purchase your St. Nicholas flip book with instructions, too as I simply don't seem to find all these resources or remember how to use them when it is all on line. I'm the kind of person who still wishes we had the old card catelogues instead of on-line ones. I guess, I am hopelessly computer challenged. This is the only site I come to and it is because of how it is organized. Of course I never would have found it except that a kind person from Australia actually sent us an e-mail with the link highlighted so I could click on their e-mail to get to it.

Katherine

what an amazing, gifted person you are!!!    Do you ever sleep? I love it.

I quite like the idea of an e-book or I know for the hard copy our suppliers here are having great success with having pdf files sent now from great resources over there and binding here. Perhaps you may need to offer both options so that everyone is happy, just to add more work for you

What was the style that you had on you blog? It was quite nice and fairly similar to what I already use. I am unfamiliar with the styles you mention.

Once again your ideas are incredible and it seems boundless

Thanks, Erin!

The handwriting style shown on the samples on my blog were Zaner Bloser. It's the stlye my kids use. It's pretty much a traditional handwriting style. Curriculums like The Well-Trained Mind recommend it, so it's pretty widely used.    But the Italic and HWT pages look really nice too.

I'm going to put together a couple more sample pictures after Christmas to give everyone an idea of how this project is progressing. I've already totally changed up the beginning manuscript page. It's now a 2-page spread so that the little ones have full page coloring sheet and the 2nd page offers tracing and copying options. I like it much better.

Here's a specific question for those of you who have requested e-files: What are your thoughts on copyright with an e-file? (Someone purchasing the file and then just passing it around to others?) And for those of you who know of different workbooks that are offered as an e-file (I just can't think of any.) what is the pricing difference between a hardcopy book and an e-file which offers unlimited copies?
