Update, Octboer 27, 2008
We were just in New Jersey visiting Steven. We saw him everyday, excpet for one, between Sunday and Friday. There was a noticable decline. His Mom called around 7 am eastern time to tell me that Steven had just gone to Heaven.
Please contine to pray for his family, parents Madelyn & Glenn, and his sisters.

Hello prayer warriors! On my blog today is a post about a boy, Steven, whose birthday is today.

I called his mom to make sure he sees it and the news is not good there. I mention a cross that he has had to bear. It is a disease that I cannot remember the name of, but he has masses growing in him. He also has mold growing in his lungs. He has been in the hospital so much and been on so many different treatments since he was 13 and he is 25 today. He is the oldest survivor of this disease in history. He is on his last legs. This year was the first time he had to go on pain medication regularly. The last experimental treatment they could offer failed and his mother says he had his will made out and is preparing to die. He is still working 3 days a week in a doctor's office, but that is all he can handle. He is on 60mgs of codine 4 times a day and the next, and last thing they can do is put him on methadone. His Mom requests prayer for the whole family for acceptance. I have known this boy since he was 3 or 4 and the whole family is very special to me. Those children were more like neices and a nephew to me than my own were. Thank you all so much.

I wanted to bring this to the top. In January they threw a birthday party for him and eveyone chipped in so he could go drive a Nascar. He did that. The last few times I talked to his mom he was getting worse. He was holding on to work (they are very good to him and understanding there.) I called last week and he answered the phone and I did not recognize his voice. It sounds pretty weak. His Mom told me that he has not been to work in 3 weeks and he spends about 18 hours a day sleeping. His body is shutting down. We are going there to see him next week. Once again, please keep Steven and his family in your prayers.

Here is an update that Steven wrote today, so please keep praying. Thank you and God bless.
i just wanted to let everybody know what's going on with me. as some of you know my hgb has been really low. but as of know it is staying steady at 9.0 my hematologist said that this # is ok for me since i have a lot of other stuff going. i am still taking fe (iron) & folic acid for the low hgb & low rbc's. as of lately i have been getting really bad headaches. i did not think anything of them because i usually get a lot of headaches. but when it was not gone after the 3rd day i called my dr. in Philadelphia. she recommended i get an mri of the brain. so i had one yesterday 6/27/07. they called me right away which is never good. they found some small nodules in my brain & one on my shull bone itself. she recommended that i go on the posazcansal. which is a drug to fight fungal infections. so basically what was is my lungs some of it broke of & got carried by my bloodstream to my brain. that is why i am having really bad headaches & light is bothering so bad. as of right now the lesions are small. but if the medicine does not work they will continue to grow like the mass in my chest. i just wanted to let you all know what was going on with me. i just pray it works.
