Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Beautiful, Michelle. I'm sure your tutorial will help many moms.

Okay, confession here...I never got around to making my sling. Before I get started on one, I want to make sure I can still USE one.

Since I've never had one before, what I'm wondering is, how big are the babies when it's time to put away the sling? How much weight does a sling hold? My little guy is only 7 weeks and already weighs 14 pounds. Will he be too heavy for a sling? Will it hurt my back?

Thanks!

All of my littles have been carried in the sling up to around age two, well over 20 lbs.

Love,

Is cotton quilting fabric a good choice for slings? I've been using my baby bjorn, but its too hot - and not the most comforable thing on the planet.

The solarveil looks tempting, too.

Any other lightweight fabric suggestions?

Yes I like the cotton quilting fabric for slings. And there are SO many pretty choices aren't there?! I would probably line it (with a coordinating cotton) for added strength.

God bless,
