This isn't a big celebration day today but we will honor Mary by placing her statue with a candle in the center of our dinner table and praying the daily collect.

We are going to read the ancient story of the Presentation from the Protoevangelium of St. James and the kids are coloring this Icon of the Presentation of the Theotokos.

Ruth...God is so amzing! We ended up doing the same thing but quite by Divine Providence. I had ordered this book from the library a couple of days ago not fully knowing what it would be like. We picked it up last night and I was so pleasantly surprised to see that the first story was on the presentation...so I read it to the kids right away and we talked about it a little bit.

Then later on the evening after the kids were asleep, I caught some Christian (non Catholic) speaker on tv talking about dedicating our children to the Lord and then lead the group in prayer for the children...I thought it was pretty powerful...especially since I doubt very much that they knew that this was the feast day of Mary's presentation...know what I mean?
