If so, can you recommend a nice display portfolio for them? I purchased one last year. It was a cardboard bi-fold style with the map of the U.S. and a slot for the Quarter for each state. The problem is that the Quarters slipped through the slot and disappeared between the two layers of cardboard...very frustrating, as there is no way to remove the Quarter without cutting or tearing the display. Just wondering if anyone has found a Quarter display the you really like?

My brother got all my older children going on those quarters back when they first came out (and yes, they've kept up the hunt!). At that point, we were able to pick up large (about 18 or 20 inches high) single fold quarter holder "books" at Walmart that have worked out well. Sturdy. Since then, I *may* have seen them at Books-A-Million.

My son does collect them. But we dont have a display folder. What he uses is this book:
Coin Collecting For Kids
which has spots for not only the state quarters, but alot of other coins, too.The book is a heavy cardboard, spiral bound.
Our problem was that the coins tended to pop out. We remedied this by covering each completed row with clear packing tape.
Ds has had alot of fun with this book, but it isn't for display.
He has all the state quarters so far except he still needs South Dakota.

My mom was able to find heavy plastic bifold albums that have a little plastic pocket for each quarter. It works great- just don't hold it upside down!

A while back I purchased a nice display case with a wood frame and blue velvet background from a catalogue, I think it was in Harriet Carter. My 13 year old has continued her collection, and just found the last coin issued this year.

I bought our display at Books-A-Million. I forget what it's called but it folds in half for easy storage.

Opa brings us six new quarters when they come out, the children place one quarter in the plug on the correct state in our display and each child places their own quarter in zip-lock bags. I just don't have space for lots of display boards.

We bought one a few weeks ago. The kids have been coin collecting since just before Christmas when my dad gave Jonathan (11) some of his old books. It is a hobby that all the kids have gotten into.

I'll ask the kids to bring down the book and see what it is.
