I have a close friend here in Belgium whose 4 year old daughter was recently se-ually abused in the schools. They have tried to deal with the school (have taken her out, she's at home now, but trying to confront things and find out facts), and also gone to the police, but NO ONE will listen to them, or even look into it. The abuse was serious, happened more than once, and most probably included a full r-pe. My heart is broken for them. She was such a sweet, quiet little girl, and now she is "shadowed", and full of fear. This is a dark city we live in (morally, emotionally, spiritually)--I guess that's why we're here, but sometimes it can feel dark indeed.
Please pray that this couple can be given a voice that will be heard in this city. The father is going to try going to a different department of the police this week, and has been told that some districts are more "sympathetic", though they feel too exhausted to want to keep fighting. And please pray for healing for this family.

That is terrible and sooo sad. I will pray they can continue the fight and that their daughter can find healing through God's grace and mercy.

I agree--truly devastating......will definitely pray for all of them, and for the perpetrator, too 
...inspired by a recent re-read of Maria Goretti's story to remember that......
