I don't have time to write right now but I'm anxious to know what's the best unabridged version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice?

Oxford?
Penguin?
Other?

I'd like the one with the most notes and the most true to orginial form. Every edition I've looked through has been edited by someone and I'm not sure who to trust.

Also, any good bio on Austen out there?

I'd appreciate any feedback. More later...

so, what......you are gonna try just one more time to read through it???

Sorry no advice from me.......I will read just any Jane Austen put in front of me

......though that DOES remind me of the fact that every copy I have read.......gives away the story in the analysis before you start reading.........that was a little frustrating.......though it only barely diminished the pleasure I got from Austen's novels.

Oh Cay,

I love Jane Austen. Catherine has been reading her. I can't comment on the best version of her work, but you might check this site: www.pemberley.com. These folks are real Austen afficionados (as evidenced by the name!).

I'm going to have a look myself since I'm hoping to put together a reading group.

You might like the photo that I posted yesterday of my daughter "reading" Pride & Prejudice. I read the Oxford World Classic edition. I enjoyed it and didn't notice excessive editing.
