Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am putting together an activity bag for my 3 dd for while I'm in labor at the hospital. They are all still fairly young--7, 4, and 2--and are not really interested in watching the birth. We are planning on Grandma and Grandpa caring for them in the waiting room of the hospital. There is a little children's area in the waiting room, but it doesn't look very interesting. So, I'm packing an activity bag for them.    I'm packing some of their favorite books, Rosaries, a little picture album w/ post-card size pictures of the Mysteries of the Rosary in it, crayons (a package for each child), coloring paper, and clipboards (so they each have a firm surface to color on--also good for playing "doctor"), card games, dry erase activity books for my 7yod and 4yod, and some snacks and juice boxes.

Have any of you done something like this for your dc? What did you include in your activity bag? Did it keep your dc busy and happy? I'd love to hear your ideas!

Dawn

My dc love sticker books. Also, we have a small plastic bag of beads for stringing that we take places that require waiting. I haven't used these ideas for labor, but it sounds like a great idea. I hope all goes well for you!

I think it depends on how fast you labor? YOu might want to consider a video and someway of playing them. Those could be good for a couple of hours.
