Thursday
DD#3 fell from a horse today onto her hand. This is the hand that has bone cysts and had a bone graft last year.
She is uncomfortable.
PLease pray that her discomfort is due to bruising and not a fracture.

Friday
As feared, she has a fracture into the largest of her bone cysts.
Visit with the orthopedic surgeon on Monday. Not sure if they will let it heal or do another graft sooner rather than later.
I believe your prayers have allowed both of us to be brave (I am the baby in this house).
With meds, ice, and elevation her pain is under control--DVDs do not hurt either.
BTW--vet tape/Co-Flex is a great, colorful cover for a splint. We picked it up at the tack shop for $1.90 a roll. It stretches, sticks to itself and so far we have purple, black and gold for Sunday's football game, and will get some pink for everyday!

Ouch! 
I would probably have it X-rayed.
My youngest dd broke her wrist at dance last year when she tumbled on the mat and fell sideways on it. I thought she had just twisted it and wasn't too worried. Went away to retreat only to have my dh call me from the doctor's office.

DD's hand is hard casted for 3 weeks. The hope is that her body will produce enough bone to fill the cyst in her fractured bone. If not, she will have another bone graft to fill in the cyst. The last graft was a success so either way we are blessed.
Thank you for your prayers, I believe they are giving her relief and peace and me-courage.

The cast is off and the cyst has not filled in.
DD will have her bone graft on Dec.6th.
She is unhappy about missing out on and tennis and piano, especailly during the holidays, but because of the fracture's location, she repeatedly hurts herself.
This time around DD knows what she is facing--sort of resigned to it.
