Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Christmas Remembered by Tomie dePaola. Anyone read it? Recommend it? What age level would you suggest for read-alouds? This isn't a picture book, right, but one of his autobiographies?

I'm off to meet Tomie dePaola this afternoon and wondering if I should add this to my list for him to sign.

This sounds like a really fun book. I will be interested to see if our local B&N has it when I venture out tonight in search of birthday gifts.

Reading the description led me to wonder, have any of you put pen to paper and recorded your memories of Christmases past (when you were young and after marriage, too) for your children (or yourself?)

God Bless,
Stacy in MI (getting that Christmas preparation anticipation! )

Yes, I did. It looks great...several years of remembering his Christmas pasts. I can't wait to read it.

I received a Christmas journal to write down memories of each Christmas...it was something Lands End was selling a few years ago. I've written most years down, and it's nice to look back. AS I'm getting older I can't remember what happened one day to the next, let alone one Christmas after another. They all seem to blur together.

Case in point, you probably told me yesterday that you bought it, btu I already couldn't rememeber. I love the idea of a Christmas journal. I've seen it with scrapbooks before, but I haven't done it myself.

I know we have some stories on different threads. I finally posted the story

4Real Group Picture with Tomie[/url] -- Rachel May and her family, Jenn and her son, Mary Chris and her children.

My son with Tomie

Mary Chris and her children

Rachel's family with Tomie

The shop owner is sending me copies of her pictures, too, since some of mine didn't turn out. We'll see if they are any better.

If you have the opportunity to go, we all say do it!

Thank you! The hair only looks good because we were leaving the house.

I went today to Barnes and Nobles and they don't carry this book. Does anyone know if it is out yet?

It's definitely out, Molly, as I bought a copy on Wednesday. But since it's so recently published, it's probably not in all the stores yet. Did you ask if they are going to get it eventually?
