Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Along the lines of Meredith's post about igniting your faith, I have been trying to make some type of prayer routine or schedule. I am good about praying at night with the children and we have a routine down for that time but I do not have one for myself and desperately need one. I saw that someone (might have been on Magnum Opus) consecrates her family to the Holy Family each morning. I want to add this and more....My dh has a list of all the prayers he prays each day and all the intentions he adds. He has a quiet prayer time in the morning before we all get up. What prayers do you make sure you get in each day? Which ones do you strive to get in and do you suggest anything else? We pray the Rosary as a family usually in the afternoon and pray the Angelus at each meal. I just want to increase my prayer life and have a specific time that I pray for different intentions...does this make sense? I guess I'm asking for a little glimpse of your prayer day? Thanks once again!

I found Holly Pierlot's book A Mother's Rule of Life got me thinking in a practical manner about this issue. I tried to impliment her 'suggestions' all at once. Prayer time in the morning, morning tea, lunch and mid afternoon with prayer time in the evening with the family. Needless to day because I tried to do too much I did nothing.

Recently we have implementated ONE simple addition. The Angelus at 12noon. Previously we said it with meals and it did not always happen as dc were hungry and needed to eat NOW. At noon we are still together doing lessons, so we stop and say the Angelus and then swap to the next(and last) lesson before lunch.

When we have that done 'pat' I have discussed with dd about us starting the Divine Mercy chaplet at 3pm. Not too sure how to do it but I'm sure I'll muddle along when the time comes.

For me I can NEVER do early morning prayers, I often grab time to prayer when I'm in the shower Quick aspirations and talks throughout the day seem to be my way. I do dream though of being consistent with night prayers with the dc.
