My daughter Elizabeth and her husband James are in the process of purchasing their first home.
I can't believe they are actually buying because they are both so young! He is 22 and she is 18. My kids are growing up too fast.
They are supposed to close on the 27th, which is next Friday. Please say a quick prayer that everything will go smoothly.
Thank you!
Blessings,
Krisann

Please say a quick prayer.
It looks like this might fall through. My s-i-l's former employer is unwilling to send a needed statement about income. If he doesn't send it, the mortgage company will require my daughter and s-i-l to have an extra $4000 in the bank. No one in the family has $4000 lying around to "gift" them.
Please pray that "Casey's" heart will be softened and that he will send the paper first thing in the morning and also that the closing will procede uneventfully as scheduled at 3 PM tomorrow.
Thank you!
Blessings,
Krisann

Praying! It might also be worth really begging the mortgage rep. for another option or to do some extra work for the young couple's benefit. Can the mortgage rep. call the employer and request the paperwork or get a verbal statement? When it comes to getting mortgages, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Being squeaky can be so hard when you're young and going through this process the first time.
Love,

They actually did that already. The mortgage rep spoke with Casey on Monday and verified it verbally but the mortgage company (the underwriter I suppose) is insisting on having it in writing.
Thanks for your prayers!
I will let you all know how it goes. I probably won't be online on Friday so I will let you know when I get back online.
Blessings,
Krisann

They still have not closed but it is not because of Casey.
The mortgage company is full of incompetents. They were supposed to close on Friday but they decided at the last minute they were missing a piece of paper. My daughter spent the day taking care of the problem but they told the seller they weren't going to close so he left town.
Then they were supposed to close today but the underwriter waited too long to get final approval so the manager that was to approve it left for the day! They are somewhere back east so they are 2 hours ahead. The worst part is, my daughter was calling all day to make sure they had everything and that they would be closing on time and was told it was a "go".
They are now supposed to close at 10 AM tomorrow. Please, if you have a moment, say a prayer that this will be finished tomorrow. This process has been very stressful and my daughter is expecting in December. If they don't close tomorrow they are going to look for a different lender and possibly a different house.
Thank you!
Blessings,
Krisann

Ugh. Don't get me going on this topic! I'm so sorry that your daughter and family are going through this. I'll keep praying.

Thank you for all your prayers. They were FINALLY able to close yesterday afternoon!
The mortgage company apologized for the problems and delays, they admitted they messed up. They repeatedly miscalculated the amount of money needed for closing and in the bank.
It ended up that my daughter got all of her deposit money back plus more! Also the mortgage company is not charging them interest for November or December and they are not required to make their first payment until January 1st.
It was extremely frustrating and stressful but it worked out in the end.
My daughter and son-in-law are busy painting and cleaning and should be moved in by the end of the month.
Thanks again for your prayers!
Blessings,
Krisann
