Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm so excited that they canonized Mother Theodore. The kids thinks it's great that she was homeschooled!

I just had a conversation with my oldest two dd's earlier today about Confirmation names/saints. My 10 yo asked if there were any saints who were American Pioneers. Since I had read about Mother Theodore Guerin in the past week due to the canonization news, I could tell her, "Yes, in fact, there is . . ."

Just to think that I grew up across the river from Vincennes, IN and never even heard of her. Shame, Shame!
