Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm re-phrasing my question because I still don't think I expressed myself very well. Where do you look for information regarding nutrition and health? I have a "health issue" and want to deal with it in a natural way, not with medication if at all possible. Trouble is, I don't know where to go for information. There is SO much on the internet, I don't know how to judge what is truth. Any suggestions?

Have you tried visiting a naturopath?

There's a naturopath that shares the office with my OB, and while I haven't visited him, a good friend has. She was very happy with his natural approach to her issues and provided her with some great solutions. He prescribed her specific vitamins, etc. (sorry, don't know exact details) and provided relief when she wasn't able to find it with a traditional MD.

Her insurance didn't cover the visits, but she felt the cost was well worth it. He spent a lot of time with her, asking her many questions about her life, etc. in order to find a good solution.

Good Luck!

I would recommend a Homeopath. The one I see is a MD as well as a homeopath. So, I feel like I get an extreamly balanced veiw of the situation. With Homeopathy they treat the whole person, not just a specific symptom. PM me if you would like more information on what I know and how it helped me.

I looked up the herb store in the phone book and next to the name of it (Herbs Etc.) it says Naturopathic Institute. I called and can actually set up an appointment to talk to one of the Naturopaths there. I don't know if there are any Homeopaths around here. I'll have to check into that too. Thanks!!

a very widely used and trusted resource (many health food/herbal stores have it to refer to) is "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by Balch
