(This got long. I'm so emotional please forgive the length.)
Ladies,
I am soooo excited. If you remember, I was unable to enter the church last Easter after RCIA because of problems getting my baptismal certificate. I refused to be conditionally baptised because I knew I had been baptized (we had pics!).
Well, my mom has realized that I need this. She started coming to Mass w/ my family after almost 40 years away from the church. She would watch my tears during communion as everyone went up & I stayed in the pew.
She decided to actually do something about it & called a friend she has in the town I was born...where she adopted me. They gave her the number to the hospital and she called immediately. This morning, my mom let me know that in about 10 days I will be receiving my baptismal certificate!!!!
MaryM, please forgive me for my aloofness. It was so depressing for so long...... I am sorry.
You helped me through the rough time.
I feel vindicated (? not sure if that's the exact word), but I just couldn't/wouldn't be baptized conditionally. Now, I can go in with my certificate.
Plus, imagine all that I've learned through this....my birth mother was a Catholic, who choose LIFE ...my life, plus before letting me go she had me baptized.
Tears of sadness & joy all mixed together.
I don't know what the next step is, will my parish just let me enter now (I'm positive they will) but I will be receiving our Lord soon.
Thank you for letting me share.

Oh, Michaela - praise God. I am so happy for you and have thought of you often and continued my prayers. I wish I could give you a big hug right now.
- cyber ones will have to do. And what joyous news about your mother.

This is just beautiful Michaela! Your birth mother and your mother--both working towards this for you in their own time...
