Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We will be headed to El Paso VERY early in the morning and then back home.

Please pray for a safe, stress-free drive for us and safe flights from El Paso to Dallas to Kansas and the drive from Kansas City to Manhattan for Johnathan.

Thank you!

Blessings,
Krisann

PS: Praying for all the requests on the board, I just don't have time to post individually tonight.

Praying also....hope John has a fun ride home. Going from the airport back to Manhattan is a BORING drive!!! I went to college there and there is nothing but farmland to look at the entire way back!!!
Anyway, good luck!

God Bless,
Angela

Thank you for all your prayers!

Unfortunately we did not have an uneventful trip home but everyone is safe and where they need to be.

We left Douglas, AZ at 5 AM headed for El Paso to drop Johnathan at the airport. We were trucking along making good time, but had to stop in Rodeo, NM to wash the windshield because there was too much bug debris.

We were almost to Road Forks when a deer ran out into the road. Thankfully we saw it in plenty of time and slowed down to avoid it. So far, so good.

We got onto I-10 headed toward Deming, Las Cruces, and El Paso. It was a beautiful morning and we got to watch the sun rise over the mountains, GORGEOUS! The recent heavy rains have flooded the valley and it looks like there are lakes on either side of I-10 between Road Forks and Lordsburg. It was really neat to see the sunrise reflecting off the water in the normally dry desert.

We stopped in Lordsburg to get some breakfast. While Cris and the older kids went inside, I stayed in the car with the babies. As I sat there I noticed a tire repair shop across the road. I memorized the phone number 542-9517. This probably should have been a "sign" but as usual, I don't realize it until after the fact.

We piled back into the car and got back on the road. The road was crowded with big-rigs and a caravan of cars, trucks, and vans towing other cars, trucks, and vans loaded with odds, ends, and junk. It was really strange because they weren't moving regular furniture or "valuable" items, it was literally junk. We were all trying to figure out where they were headed with all that stuff.

We made it past Deming still making good time. My laptop ran out of battery while the kids were watching a movie so everyone drifted off to sleep. I was just starting to dream about the wild critters we had been learning about the day before when

BANG!

Thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud.........

The driver's rear tire blew out. It scared everyone. Cris kept it under control and guided the suburban off the highway into the center divide and right into a tree. Thankfully there was very little damage from the tree, just a big scrape on the driver's side. If we had had a newer suburban with airbags we would have had a lot more problems.

It took quite a bit of manuvering to get the suburban to where we could get the jack under the axle to change it. Two New Mexico state troopers stopped to see if we needed any assistance but we were ok so they went back to work. After about 45 minutes, we were back on our way.

We made it to the airport in El Paso just after 11 AM, John's flight left at 12:30. I know that all your prayers helped us to make it with time to spare.

Once John was on his way, we stopped to get a new tire because the spare had a very large and dangerous looking gash in it. The tire was a bit expensive because it was new and an unusual size but the Lord always provides and we were able to cover it.

The blowout caused some type of damage to the exhaust too because now it is REALLY loud. Cris will take it to the mechanic tomorrow about that.

Thankfully the rest of the trip was much easier! The normally 8 hour trip lasted 13 hours but we got to see Johnathan and had a great vacation in Arizona, so it was all worth it.

Thanks again for all your prayers.

Blessings,
Krisann
